This is a present for Nikku's ( 
) 18th birthday, featuring his favorite Naruto character, Kabuto. ^_^
Yei for Kabuto!
The speach bubble with the little musical thing is an artistic pun, but only people who've read/seen Naruto would gettit. So go watch the anime or read the manga! It's really freaking good. And Kabuto is a really cool character.
Anyways, back to the drawing. It took me forever to gain the courage to put a background on this thing. I had it visualized perfectly, but I was afraid of going through it. I wanted a simple background that would unify the piece, but give off a misty feel as well... I chose the color brown because it was the color that his eyes were, and I thought the eyes wouldn't so majorly contrast from the rest of the peice if I had a background with a similar color. I'm very proud of the eye, by the way... I had a hard time deciding WHAT color Kabuto's eyes are... and even though they seem dull grey/black in the anime, I wanted them to have more life, more reflection, so I put some color in them. I figure now that you can perceive that as either being his true eye color, or a reflection of his surroundings. Either way, I really like how that turned out.
The hair was also drawn in a completely different style than I normally use. This style, after I finished drawing it, reminded me of Tanemura Arina's style of drawing hair. Instead of focusing on the lighlights of the entire mass of hair, each strand or group of strands has it's own set highlight and shade, and follows that form from end to end. I didn't think about this when I was drawing it, but I really wanted to try something new with the hair... and because I have lots of confidence in my hair drawing I didn't think it would turn out bad, and it didn't. It turned out WAY longer than Kabuto's hair actually is... but what can I say, I love hair... I couldn't help it. I wanna braid his hair T-T
It was so hard for me to give him that... I wasn't sure if it was good or not when I finished it. I'm really happy he liked it.
Erm.... what else can I say? Happy being legally an adult, Nikku!! *hugs*
